Car owner check. Keeper history by reg.
EVERY REPORT INCLUDES:

Keeper history, not names or addresses.
Can I find out who owns a car by the number plate?
Not by name. The DVLA keeps keeper names and addresses private, and the Carhealth report does not show them. It shows what a buyer can use: how many keepers the car has had, when it last changed hands, the V5C logbook issue dates and any plate changes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about car owner check on Carhealth
Not by name. The DVLA keeps the names and addresses of registered keepers private, and the Carhealth report does not show them. What you can see is how many keepers the car has had, when it last changed hands, the V5C logbook issue dates and any plate changes. If you have reasonable cause to contact a keeper, you can apply to the DVLA for keeper details on form V888. The DVLA decides whether to release them.
The Vehicle History section of the Carhealth report shows the number of previous keepers, the date the current keeper took the car on, when the previous keeper acquired and sold it, the number of keeper changes on record, any plate changes, any colour changes and the dates the V5C logbook was issued. It does not show names or addresses.
Not always. The registered keeper is the person the DVLA holds as responsible for the car. That is not always the legal owner. On a car bought with hire purchase or PCP, the finance company owns the car until the last payment. The Carhealth report includes an outstanding finance check, so run it as well.
Compare it with what the seller tells you. Check that the seller's name matches the name on the V5C logbook, and that the number of previous keepers fits their account. A car that has changed hands several times in a short period deserves questions. So does a V5C issue date that does not match what you are told. A plate change can be innocent, such as a cherished plate moving to another car, but ask why.
A private plate can be moved on or off a car. The car's history follows its VIN, not its plate, so a new plate does not wipe the record. It can make a car harder to follow by reg alone, though. The Carhealth report shows the previous and current plate, so you can see that the car you are looking at once carried a different one.
Where licensing records exist, yes. The Taxi Use section of the Carhealth report shows whether the car has been licensed as a taxi or private hire vehicle. A car used for that work can cover a high mileage, so it is worth knowing before you buy. Not every car will have a record.
Want to check the plate and chassis details too? Try the number plate check or the VIN check.
