Disclaimer & Liability
What a Carhealth check can and cannot tell you, where the data comes from, and how our liability is limited.
This page is published by Carhealth Ltd, trading as Carhealth, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17483345. Our registered office is 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds IP28 7DE. You can contact us at contact@carhealth.co.uk. It is a plain-English summary and is read together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. If anything here differs from the Terms, the Terms apply.

1. Where our data comes from
Carhealth reports and free checks are compiled from licensed third-party data providers, including the DVLA, the DVSA, Experian and other vehicle data agencies. Each section of a report states where its data comes from. Carhealth does not own or control the underlying vehicle data and relies on the accuracy of the information these providers supply.
2. We do not guarantee the data is complete
While we aim to present the data accurately, we cannot guarantee that it is complete, current or error-free. A report reflects the records held by our providers at the moment it is generated. Records can be incomplete, out of date or recorded against the wrong vehicle by the organisation that supplied them, and a vehicle's status can change after your report is produced. A section showing no entry means the provider holds no record, not that a problem is impossible.
3. A report is not an inspection
A Carhealth report is a record check. It is not a mechanical inspection, a valuation guarantee or a statement about the condition of a vehicle. Reports are provided for information only and should not be the sole basis for a purchasing decision. We recommend using them as part of your own due diligence, alongside a physical inspection, a test drive and, where appropriate, an independent mechanic.
4. Free checks show public data only
Our free checks, such as the free car check, MOT history, car tax and recall checks, show public DVLA and DVSA data only. They do not show outstanding finance, stolen status, insurance write-off history or other records held by private databases. Tax, MOT and recall information can change at any time. Where a free check says a status is unavailable, it means the source gave no answer, not that the vehicle is clear.
5. Limits on our liability
Nothing on this page or in our Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law. Nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, and as set out in section 7 of the Terms, Carhealth is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you in connection with a report is limited to the amount you paid for that report. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carhealth is not liable for loss arising from an error, omission or inaccuracy in data supplied by a third-party provider. Our data providers and their licensors have no liability to you in respect of any report.
6. If a report looks wrong
If you believe an entry in your report is incorrect, email support@carhealth.co.uk with the registration and the entry you are querying. We will investigate and, where appropriate, refund the report. Our refund terms, including the 14-day refund on unused reports and refunds when a report errors or returns no data, are in section 4 of the Terms.
7. Your data
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
